Fashion Police: Daytime Pajamas

I know it’s a little chilly this morning, but were your flannel
pajamas the best you could do? And your bedroom slippers? On the street? Downtown?

Before we come down TOO hard on this fashion victim, I should probably confess to wearing my pajamas to a lecture one time in college… but in my defense, they were sweats! I overslept and decided that showing up in pajamas and a hoodie was better than missing class. Maybe this woman did too?

Models for Charity

From a story featured in the Raleigh Telegram:

A new group called Models For Charity recently held a fashion show to help kick off their fundraiser to help raise money for local charities.

Started by local model and attorney Michelle Congleton (pictured above), the new charity group held its first event, a “Carnevale” fashion show last Tuesday, December 8th at the restored All Saints Chapel at 110 S. East Street in downtown Raleigh.

The All Saints Chapel is now owned by local developer Greg Hatem and is used as events venue. Hatem donated use of the church for the fashion show and other local businesses also helped to pitch in to make the evening possible, with food donated by Five Star Chinese Restaurant, 101 Cafe, and other restaurants.

Local clothing stores such as Thimbler and Catch 22 donated the clothes used in the fashion show while Salon 21 donated makeup and hairstyling. In the Carnevale theme, workers at the show exhibited elaborate face paints and guests were offered boutonnières upon entry.

During the fashion show, Congleton explained that each of the various models have chosen their own favorite charities and will be donating a percentage of any modeling fees received in the near future to those charities.

The Demoiselles On Thimbler Jeans

Elle and Jennifer of The Demoiselles tried our jeans, check out the full post at First Flight: (Custom Made) Thimbler Jeans for the full review, plus great pics of the girls with their different body types, different styles and different Thimbler jeans!

As far as personal style, we’d be hard pressed to put any two women next to each other and proclaim that their style is identical or remotely the same… Style is a culmination of your interests, personality, and history. It doesn’t define you, you define it – you’re running the show, and everyone is different.

Fashion Love

Celeb gossip has it that Beyonce loves her clothes so much, she couldn’t pack lightly to travel. The singer reportedly rented a second hotel room for her clothes!

“She had seven suitcases, three hand luggage bags and two boxes, all for her mammoth gig,” a source says, noting it took four people to cart everything to the room. “In the cases there were apparently 14 dresses, lots of shoes, make-up and 25 wigs.”

Don’t mind us, Mrs. Jay-Z. We’re just jealous.
