Plus Size Divas Speak Up!!! What Is Your Fave Outfit???
Greetings To My Plus Size Thimblers;
I just celebrated my 30th birthday. Even though it was just dinner with my girls, I still wanted to look divalicious! Don’t we all love dressing up sometimes? So unfortunately my beloved Thimbler Jeans had to stay in the closet that evening. I went to the standard plus size stores looking for a dressy-casual outfit, which can be very hard to find! I have to say that I have become accustomed to my custom-fit Thimbler clothing, and I just don’t like wearing the pants in certain, unnamed plus-size chain stores just don’t feel comfortable anymore.
So I tried on outfit after outfit and then I made a very surprising discovery. I found what the store called a “convertible jumpsuit”! I was skeptical when the sales girl suggested it! I mean, who looks good In a jumpsuit??? I was sure this was going to be a disaster and as I walked to the dressing room I prepared for the worst.
Now here, my darling Thimbler divas, is the kicker - I looked good, almost great in this Jumpsuit!
I was surprised! I was shopping alone so I peeked my head out the door looking for the sales lady to ask her opinion… (So yes, ladies, even a Fashion Diva questions her wardrobe choices sometimes!) Just my luck she was all the way across the store. I held my head up high and walked across the store, and my taste in clothing was reassured as all the heads in the store turned and several people called out “Oh, my, that looks fabulous!”
So needless to say my birthday outfit was surprisingly a jumpsuit!!! I am just sad that I didn’t think to take more pictures of myself full length. I ended up with only this one of my two best friends and me, and it doesn’t do the jumpsuit justice!
My surprising jumpsuit choice made me think that I would pose the following questions to all of our Thimbler Readers,
What is your most favorite outfit you have ever purchased and the story behind it?? Please comment and share your story! After all Thimbler makes custom made clothes, and designers do read our blog and comments!!
So plus-size divas speak up! What does your favorite outfit look like?
Hugs and fashion fun until next time,
Your Thimbler diva,
Chassie
Thimbler.com Offers to Make President Obama Jeans that Fit!
“Mom Jean” Debacle Easily Avoidable, says Thimbler
July 22, 2009—CARY, NC—Thimbler.com, the only place on the web where you can buy, sell, design, tailor and customize clothes for shoppers of any size, today offered President Obama a free pair of their custom-made-to-fit jeans.
According to a story on Yahoo News, Obama’s ill-fitting jeans have earned the wrath of fashionistas everywhere:
Last week, when President Obama threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the All-Star Game in St. Louis, he was probably more concerned with getting the ball over the plate than with his choice of attire. Call it a rookie mistake. The president’s baggy pants were mocked as being… brace yourselves… “mom jeans.” Now, the leader of the free world has responded to his fashion critics… President Obama acknowledged that he “looked a little frumpy” in his baggy jeans. In his defense, Mr. Obama said that he hates to shop and that “those jeans are comfortable.”
The President is not alone in his dislike of shopping, says Charles Tse, founder and CEO of Thimbler.com. “Sadly our research has shown us that fit and style issues remain the biggest disappointments in the shopping experience. That’s why we created Thimbler—so we can provide real clothes tailored to fit real bodies.”
As for what to do in the case of Obama’s real body, Tse suggested that a better, more proportioned fit through the hips and thighs, along with Thimbler’s medium wash, would have improved Obama’s overall silhouette. “He’s tall and slender, so the key for him is getting the proportions right for his unique size,” Tse said of Obama. “But let’s face it, we all have fit issues. Even world leaders. That’s why the world needs Thimbler.”
Good to know that even President Obama uses the ‘but I’m comfy!’ defense of unflattering jeans!

Why not contact us and let us know what you’d like to see?
Today’s customers are not happy with the usual clothes-shopping experience. No one really likes driving to the mall, waiting in long lines, crowds of shoppers, rude or too-busy shop assistants, and trying on clothes in poorly-lit dressing rooms. And, most importantly, the clothes you finally buy aren’t made to fit you!
At Thimbler, we have eliminated all that stress. They are no lines and no driving. You choose what you want from the comfort of your home. Then you measure yourself, in private, without getting changed in a mall fitting room and without any pushy shop assistants telling you what size they think you are! You can order online, and then we do the rest. Your custom-fit garments will arrive right in your mailbox!
We try to make sure you’ll be thrilled with what you’ve ordered, but if for some reason you’re not happy, we offer a no-risk return policy, and we’ll work with you to fix whatever’s wrong with your new clothes. Our goal at Thimbler isn’t just to make a sale and be finished. We want to build relationships with repeat customers, we want you to be thrilled with your custom-fit clothes and tell your friends that you discovered Thimbler first!
No More Baggy Pants
Okay, Fellows. How many of you wear pants that are too baggy, especially just right below your behind? Heck, I used to have dress slacks that fit me fine at the waist but had so much extra fabric at the my rear-end and just below it that I could stuff a small pillow there.
Do you have or have you seen someone has a problem with pants that slide down and show the crack in the back? You wiggle your pants, pull them up, and after 3 steps they fall right back down. It always a hopeless struggle.
I have some more bad news for you. The ladies are talking about it, and you don’t want to hear what they have to say about it.
Why do we have these problems with pants? Well, many of us enjoy our beer a lot and do most of our exercise walking around all-u-can-eat buffet tables, and some of us have flat butts as result of gotten spank too much back in grade school. Unfortunately, designers and manufacturers are probably neither beer drinkers nor buffet eaters (but they do have perfect butts). The average one-size-fits-all pants have straight waistband, 11 to 13 inch rise, and a fixed waist-seat-thigh ratio. But we don’t come in fixed ratios.
We Thimblers understand these issues. People come in all different shapes and sizes. That’s why our slacks are custom-made one at a time to fit real individuals. For people with flat seat, we nipped the extra fabric at the back and rotated the whole back panel up so that your slacks drape cleanly. For men of shorter stature, we take rise up a bit and the pants proportionally better, not just a long pair of pants cut shorter. More importantly, your slacks are made to exactly how you want it to fit and where it sit on the waist. Come check us out. We make sure that you love the fit and quality, backed by a risk-free Return Policy… And, you are right, I have no more baggy pants.
